If you, your child or someone else you care for has recently been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), you will probably want to find out more about the disease itself and treatment for ALL.

Erwinaze Use
ERWINAZE is a drug used to treat cancer of the white blood cells called Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in patients who have had an allergic reaction to similar products. It is designed to be given with other medications used to treat cancer.
Selected Risk Information about Erwinaze™ (asparaginase Erwinia chrysanthemi)
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Do not use with history of serious side effects, e.g., allergy to Erwinaze OR inflammation of the pancreas, blood clots or bleeding following therapy with any asparaginase.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS: Do not continue to use if serious allergic reactions OR inflammation of the pancreas occur. Blood sugar levels should be checked to see if treatment is needed. Do not continue to use if blood clots or abnormal bleeding occur. Pregnant women should use only if clearly needed. Do not use if breast-feeding.
COMMON SIDE EFFECTS: Serious allergic reactions (tightness in throat, abnormal swelling/redness or difficulty breathing), some of which may be life-threatening; inflammation of the pancreatitis (stomach pain); abnormal blood clotting (may have headache, pain in leg, arm, or chest); unusual bleeding; liver problems; nausea, vomiting, and abnormal blood sugar levels (may be thirsty or frequently urinate). Notify your doctor of any troublesome side effects.
